Recommend engineers by location and traffic ​

Overview ​

Map dispatch displays nearby internal engineers or external service provider resources based on the work order location address. After enabling distance calculation, manual dispatch can also recommend engineers with shorter driving times based on real-time traffic conditions, but this will consume the mileage calculation resource package.

Before you begin ​

  • The detailed address of the work order service can generate location information.
  • Engineers have the nearest location where field check-in, work order sign-in components, on-site standard operations or work order check-in are generated.
  • The enterprise has prepared a mileage calculation resource package.

Procedure ​

  1. Enter Field Service > Work Order Dispatch > Dispatch Settings and enable distance calculation.

  2. Set the maximum number of engineers to participate in the calculation of each dispatch to control resource consumption.

  3. Configure the default search range of the map and the validity time of the person's location.

  4. For example, if the map displays service providers, configure the field source of the service provider's location.

  5. The dispatcher switches to the map mode in the tasks to be assigned on the web.

  6. Complete the assignment after checking nearby resources, current location and traffic recommendations.

Verify the result ​

  1. Work orders with location addresses can open map dispatch.
  2. Engineers with valid nearest locations are displayed on the map.
  3. After enabling distance calculation, the system provides driving time recommendations based on real-time traffic conditions.
  4. The number of people and resource package consumption in a single calculation are consistent with the configuration.

FAQ ​

Map mode is not available ​

Check whether the work order has a location address; manual dispatch on the mobile terminal does not support map mode.

The map has no engineers ​

Check whether the engineer's most recent business location exists and is still within the valid time range.

Notes ​

  • The engineer's location is not continuously located in real time.
  • Distance calculation requires additional resource packs.
  • The map search range, location validity time and service provider location source come from dispatch settings and need to be confirmed on the tenant's actual page.
